What is the Internet for you? For me it is first of all a source of information and all kinds of news (international, political, economic, cultural, etc). I communicate with my friends and relatives who live abroad: for instance with my loyal friend who continues her education in Poland. From time to time I order goods from on-line shops - last month I bought a printer in such a way.
But what are computer and the Internet for children and teenagers? I was even shocked when I saw my cousin of seven years old drawing a picture on computer using a mouse as if he was drawing with a pencil!
As for my sister, who is only sixteen, she spends all days and nights on the Internet. She says that she communicates with her friends there, downloads new films, looks through different forums, on-line magazines, etc; here she and her friends watch Free web TV, express their opinions and thoughts, that’s why she says that the Internet helps her to develop as a personality. Frankly speaking I don’t approve the fact that she spends all her free time on the Internet, but I can hardly change anything.
All the time I come into her bedroom she sits in front of her computer and watch different videos: sometimes silly ones, sometimes funny ones; once I even saw her watching Free kama sutra video, but she certainly pressed “pause” when she noticed that I came into the room.
Several days ago my sister found free tattoo designs gallery on one of the sites on the Internet; and now she wants to have one of such tattoos. I’m trying to dissuade her but it’s almost impossible, she doesn’t want to hear what I’m saying.
So I came to conclusion that the Internet is a good and very useful thing only when it access of teenagers and children to it is limited, because the Internet influence their minds greatly!
